Together, organizations like Zimmer Biomet, Eli Lilly, and IU Health are driving innovation to close the gap between medical needs and breakthrough technologies, strengthening Indiana’s workforce, and cementing the state’s position as a global leader in orthopedic care and innovation.
Boosting local economies
Growing business across the state
Companies with fewer than 20 employees make up 89% of small businesses across the United States, making up the backbone of rural economies. Jaynne Rivas, Associate Professor of Management at IU East, specializes in helping entrepreneurs find success in Wayne County through tailored support for local businesses, and supercharging economic growth across the state. She’s already helped eight businesses find talent and access capital, such as Mezzo Solutions, a mental healthcare provider based in Richmond, Indiana.
Oftentimes, entrepreneurs are looking for someone to ask simple questions, so we've created a space for that. At IU, we have clear development models that can be applied to small businesses across the state.
